WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

The examination fee for all PRIVATE BOATS is £200.

The examination fee for all NON-PRIVATE and HIREBOATS is £225.

 

WHAT DO YOU GET FOR THE FEE?

Examination fee includes: 

  • Examination of the boat (average 2/3 hours) 
  • BSS certifications fee (currently £60 plus VAT = £72) 
  • Travel costs within a hour from base (further than 1 hour from base @ £60 extra) 
  • Administration (BSS register of certificate and record of details) 

Certificates can be issued either hardcopy, electronically or both.

 

Examinations can take place at anytime. Otherwise 2 months in advance (of existing certificate expiry) if you wish to preserve the continuity of your existing certificate.

 

 

RETESTS

Wherever possible photographic proof of rectifications is acceptable and retests are free, however, if a retest is required (on a hands-on basis) a retest fee for all classes of boats is £60

 

TIMESCALE FOR RECTIFYING WORKS

There is a timescale of up to 3 months in which to undertake rectification work.

The Boat Safety Scheme insist that a full new examination must take place after three months has passed.

 

 

PAYMENTS

Payment can be made via Cash or Bank transfer.

Payments should be made once the examination is complete.
